Well Said for February Demonstrator Blog Hop

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to this month's Demonstrator training blog hop - if you've reached me from another blog then welcome - I'm Laura (AKA The Stamping Cat) a demonstrator from the UK - if you're starting with me then I'm happy to see you. I'd love for you take a look at my blog and then hop along to the next one in the list!

This month I had the pleasure of making a card for a lovely colleague of mine (in my other job as an Accountant) who was retiring after 20 years in the company. He is such a lovely gentleman and it was an honour to make his card, so I wanted to make sure it was a special one!

However, it was a tricky brief - male cards in general are harder for me to make and I wanted to celebrate the retirement too so double tricky! Luckily, one of the new stamp sets in the Spring/Summer catalogue contains sentiments for any occasion - one of which is retirement. The 'Well Said' stamp set truly does cover any eventuality so I decided to use that set. But I was still left with the problem of what background to use to add the sentiment too. I then had a brainwave to use one of the other stamps in the same set to create the background. I added the 'Happy' die cut (TIP I didn't have the co-ordinating Well Said dies but I do have the 'Happy Birthday' thinlits die so I used that and trimmed the Happy!) and the fabulous rectangle stitching dies and there you have it. I'm pleased to say the recipient was very pleased with the card - I hope you like it too!

To finish the card off, I used the Subtle Embossing Folder on the base card and added some co-ordinating ribbon and enamel dots.

Thanks for reading, I'd love for you to hop along to the next Demonstrator in the list to see their creations. Don't forget, all products used are available to buy in my online store. You can also enter your email at the bottom of this post to make sure you never miss a blog post from me.
