Needle and Thread for Coffee and Card

Hi Everyone!

For this weeks Coffee and Card I decided to bring out one of my favourite stamp sets from the Spring/Summer catalogue - Needle and Thread.

This is a fabulous stamp set - not only does it combine stamping with sewing bit also has some beautiful co-ordinating patterned papers to go with it. These papers are beautiful - if you have a paper addiction like me, you'll know how hard it is to actually use them on a card instead of just stroking them!!! BUT I decided to take the plunge and cut up some of the gorgeous paper to use on this weeks card design. The other reason I love this stamp set is because it is a distINKtive stamp set, which means it shows great details, making the stamp look like real thread! There is a knack to this though - the best I've heard is to get your ink pad and a spoon and move the ink from one end to the other. This will leave a lighter coating of ink on the ink pad, which is what you need for your stamps to work perfectly when they're as detailed as this. Don't worry, the ink will naturally settle back evenly once you're done!

Here are the cards I designed for this week - I used the colours in the paper as my inspiration for my palette. The first card is a bit of a rarity for me - it's not often I stamp directly onto my card base but I think it really works on this one.

For my second design, I used the needlepoint flower stamps as a base and fussy cut some on top. I love how different these cards are from using the same colour palette and stamp set!

I hope you like these cards as much as I liked designing them! Don't forget all products used are available for purchase in my online store, and don't forget to add your email under this post to make sure you never miss a blog post from me.
