I know I've said before, one of my favourite things about making my own cards is that I am able to make personalised cards for my friends and family.
Recently, my gorgeous little nephew, Solly, celebrated his 4th Birthday so I wanted to make a fun card for him. Children's cards are always a bit tricky for me as I'm not usually drawn to stamp sets that are aimed at children. So I decided this time to make use of what I had and decided on an 'Eclipse' card.
If you haven't heard of an 'Eclipse' card, it is basically where shapes are die cut out of paper (usually designer series paper, but it can be any stamped patterned card/paper) and then placed back in where they were cut out, but raised up. This gives an 'eclipse' effect where you can just about make out the cardstock underneath.
For Solly's card I decided to use the Animal Expedition DSP, which is just so cute! I used the 'Large Letter' dies to cut his name out and then stuck back down with dimensionals.
This was a nice and quick card to make but I hope you'll agree, very effective, even with no stamping at all on it!
